What a surprise. I live in a small town where I mostly only see the highway and the other houses, but the morning was magical. I'm going to try to carry that through this day. How did your morning start?

Dick, I have heard that Elk Fest will happen. Although Estes Park is now open and welcoming visitors, as for a money maker, you're probably right. As you're probably aware, the public can now access the city from I 70, via Hwys 6, 72, and 7, through Black Hawk, Nederland and Allenspark. The roads are in good condition. RMNP is now open. Lori and I will be conducting our annual Colorado Fall Wildlife photography workshop in the Park this coming week and we have participants coming in from Kansas, Arizona, and Kentucky. I'm also confident people from along the Front Range will be coming to hear the elk bugle. Business wise, it's any body's guess. I talked with Andy and the Dunraven Inn is open. We have reservations for Sunday evening.
I think you guys are all burying me in your dust.
Thanks, Connnie! There's nothing better than making a painting before breakfast! Every day is a miracle.
Beautiful, Carrie. It is so great to see you finding this path for yourself and growing daily. Isn't it wonderful some of the things we can make happen? and that we live long enough to fulfill dreams of our youth.
So pleased to have you here also, Weldon. Life's adventures are never ending. I have a photo of my mother next to my computer, snorkeling at the Great Barrier Reef on her 70th birthday. Her sense of adventure was one of her gifts to me.
Happy Birthday, Dick. Kudos to you, Connie. Life is good and I am truly blessed in so very many ways. 76, as of Aug 10th, and still kicking. Health is good and so is my appetite for fun, friends, good food, and the great outdoors, where I love photographing and connecting with my wild brothers and sisters. Lori and I were at nearby Brainard Lake Recreation Area a few days ago and photographed a cow moose near Long Lake. Fall is definitely in the air in the Colorado Rockies where we live (Allenspark) and I'm enjoying every moment of it. You're never to old to get out and enjoy life to its fullest . . . I just have to do it at a slower pace.
And Happy Birthday, Richard Sherer! Hope this starts the best year ever for you!
I got up around 5, came out to my studio-office to do emails... then took a photo of the sky for a project I'm doing with a friend (365 days of sky photos). It was so gorgeous, I did a painting, just in the yard. I'm attaching sky photo and a pic of my nearly finished painting, in the landscape...
