November 19-21 - New York City - Jacob Javits Center - Call for Artists
Excuse me if I get a little excited here. Imagine showing and selling your work at the Javits Center in New York City! Imagine being at the heart of America's art world! Imagine meeting real collectors. Imagine coming face to face with people who insist they only buy art in NYC. Imagine -- you can afford to be there!

Two things that may have stopped you in the past from going to New York:maincontact_store.jpg
  • The high booth prices
  • Logistics of exhibiting in this huge city
Solved!

Price:
American Art Marketing, owner of the American Craftsman Galleries in NYC really knows this marketplace and has put together a package of booth options that begin at $390 for a 10 x 10. Really.

Logistics:
  • The Javits Center is next to the Lincoln Tunnel. You can easily be at the New Jersey chain motels (ranging in price from $59 to $99) in ten to 20 minutes.
  • Additionally, if you'd like to explore the City you can park your van at the Javits and take a cab or bus to see the sights.
Seize the day! You can afford this...here, you go again, off to the City!

  • Didn't take the kiddie...but my best friends from high school & college live in nyc, so we had fun and i had a free place to crash.

Look, the show had some flaws, and I didn't sell a thing - but, the crowd was much more likely to buy art/craft than the people who stroll for free at an outdoor show. And, exposure in NYC is not easy to come by. I might just get that call from the gentleman who wanted to purchase a larger piece - and that would make it all good!

  • I am so relieved to hear this, Sandhi. I've been holding my breath to hear from you. Did you and your daughter have some fun too?
  • I did. It was mostly good - the price was right - I know they'll make necessary changes for next year.
  • and I am hoping you and your daughter have a fabulous time in New York!
  • The show must go on, and I am signed up. I can carry work in the front door [no labor charges!] take a hammer and a couple of nails. They'll even ring up sales for me, take care of taxes... they've answered all my questions. I'm sure it's not the biggest or bestest show in NYC, but I'm hoping the exposure will take it up a notch!
  • Wouldn't that be a fabulous thing to do on an 18th birthday? Then throw in a Broadway show and a meal in a fabulous restaurant...I'd think your work would be fabulous in NYC, Sandhi.
  • too bad this is my daughter's 18th birthday weekend....unless she wants to go to NY and work a booth for her b-day?
  • It is real, Holly -- pretty amazing, isn't it? Richard has been working on putting this together for quite awhile...and has some great marketing lined up too.
