Best show ever and why

Scottsdale Arts Festival -a juried festival with remarkable artists - and art-smart attendees. Beautiful grounds, admission is charged to the show - people expect to spend money on art and that is why are they are there. Seems like shows that include wine tasting or are near popular bars have "looser" customers.


Worst show ever and why

Looking back, many seem worse because of weather conditions, bad publicity, the economy. The shows I don't like are the ones where you have no room for storage, no consideration for hills, don't stagger move-in times or put fine artists next to the kettle corn booth.

    I did this a few years back in Jupiter florida. I kept it up for several years. Downside: RETAIL! Hours are horrendous, hard to find artists. I never did get a good mix nor enough artists. I broke even after 3 years. Rent was too high and not enough foot traffic. NEED FOOT TRAFFIC!!!! Do not be a destination. just my $.02
