First show ever
Greensboro's farmers curb Market! My space looked like a jewelry yard sale!
What are the best things about art fairs
All the other Craft people!
Best show ever and why
A last minute day and a half show, some woman called out of the blue and needed to fill a couple of booths at an educational conference. You would have thought these women had never seen jewelry before. God bless them.
Worst show ever and why
This year at Nuse River Festival. My car broke down on the way there. (towing$) (repairs$) Had to take a fifty dollar cab ride to the thing $! left the top of my tent in the car! it was so hot I almost passed out! My jewelry was too hot to touch! Well it went downhill from there.

Thank you it always means a lot from another artist!
Hi Robin,
I'd love to be friends and share about shows. Where are you located and where do you do shows? I love your photos!

Hi Robin!
Love your posts and really love your work- you have great insights into the marketing portion of this lovely ride we call Artfairs!! I live in a rural State, so doing the Ag Fairs, which are plentiful here was a natural transition here. Next month is my transition month- my final outdoor show is October 13th. After that, it's all inside til Christmas. Then after that3 months of almost no shows except for my monthly Art Walk. I hope to expand into more of those! As each of my surrounding communities does them on different evenings (First Tuesdays, Third Thursdays, Final Fridays) it would be at least one per week! I Like the Art Walks because they specifically target people interested in the Arts and hand crafts. And very community oriented!
Hope your season is going well- we are currently gearing up for fall winter shows- and the weather is definitely getting chillier!! Had some wild wind gusts at my outdoor show this weekend- the worst I have ever dealt with- about 70 mph, and I was right on the Bay. Had to close up early due to my tent having some damage, and jewelry being blown away! Off to the studio- time to work! Have a good week
Karole
Hey new friend! I know the feeling - there is never enough time to make all the jewelry pieces that we want, or try out new techniques. Someday you will just have to set aside some time to try some etching - it is really fun to do. I call it my doodle work - I draw all the designs on the metal by hand with Staedler luminace red markers - the work better than sharpies. What is great is that if you don't like it you can just sand it off & draw again.
Keep the peace.....
