A really big weekend -- the shows are coming in and I hope you are ready! On the radar:
- The inaugural Spring One of a Kind Show at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago. I hope this will become as big a deal as the December show which is so beloved by shoppers and many artists. - Springtime in Kansas City could only mean Brookside Art Fair, a very fine quality show. Here's that story:

- Many of you are heading to Louisville for Cherokee Triangle. Hope the weather holds for you:
- In Texas it is Art City Austin. I hope the organizers can turn this into a success:

- This is where I wish I was going to be: the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, one of the funnest, deliciousest, audibly delightful events in the country (this weekend and next). http://www.nojazzfest.com/crafts/

The Birmingham (MI) Farmer's Market opens tomorrow for the season and we may check it out and then go to the Cranbrook Academy's student art exhibit afterwards. I do love being so close to everything I love to do, but the N.O.'s Jazz & Heritage Festival sounds tempting too...we went in the early days and were totally charmed by it. Have a wonderful week-end everybody and make lots of money!
Where in Birmingham do they hold this Farmer's Market, Tina?
At the end of old Woodward where there's a park and a river and a playscape for kids. It's really sweet but smallish but there are usually several food trucks and a few craft vendors in addition to organic farm produce and beautiful flowers. I'm not sure how long they've been doing it but it's a really nice one and you can park all along Woodward for free on Sunday. Zach, Liz and the kids like to go there because it's not as crowded as Eastern Mkt. and there's a great park to play in across the street. They usually have live music of some kind and a few small farm animals as well...it's really lovely.
We will be in Essex Junction, Vermont at the Champlain Valley Fairgrounds doing a show with Vermont Craftworkers.
This show has gone downhill a lot in the past few years, but Diane likes the people who are still doing it and we get to see some old friends. A number of us will probably go out for dinner Saturday night.
Turning around a show is tricky, but being with friends, especially the old art fair/craft show gang is priceless. Hope you make money, Chris, and have some fun too.
We are at the Jazz Fest (#6) this week. Today was the first day and even with a bunch of on and off rain we still had sales. Three more fun days of music, food and of course, crafts...
More fun than anyone deserves, Greg ;) Wish I was there too.
I heard they were doing some special tributes to Prince. Anything on that?
So jealous. I've attended once as part of the NAIA conference but keep planning/hoping to come again. Get stymied about hotels. Christine has promised me a pass if I get there. What do you do for lodging?
I will be doing the Hilltop Art Fair, a small indoor show at our church and historic one room school house across the road (Douglas County, CO). I laid out 19 indoor booths in the fellowship hall today. This show allows me to get into my inventory to see what I need to do for resort area shows starting up Memorial Day. I have been finishing up about 70 belts today and finally closed up the trick at 9:00 pm. More about this show ,and what the goals of the church are in promoting it and my involvement with that effort. The mini-load on the truck:
