We are hunkering down for 20" plus of wet snow starting tonight (Friday) and ending Monday morning. I cut and split a lot of firewood. I have plenty of work on four trick saddles and orders to keep me occupied, but cabin fever will be setting in by Sunday. I just hope the storm doesn't block out the TV signal for the PBS programs Sunday night.
Just finished setting up for " 4 Bridges Art Fest " in Chattanooga. It's my 1st time here. Tonight is a patron party. Hoping it turns into some extra sells. The weather at least looks to be great.
That is supposed to be a good party, Kendra. Hope it turns out to be some big sales for you.

Just put mine in the mail, Robert ... sigh! I've never been this late. Change in family is changing the picture for next year, but still working an all be well.
Have you reported on Cherokee Triangle before? Thanks for that nice report on Queeny Park. They've been good supporters of this site and good to have a review. I met Garry McMichael and other organizers a few years at Best of Missouri Hands conference. They were folks who knew a lot about this business and were very sharp.
I did a report on Cherokee Triangle two years ago in 2014. I'll do another one this year, and try to get a few crowd shots to go along with it.
Cherokee Triangle is the show that convinced me to take along a propane space heater. The weather can be so variable at that time of year; it's been cold enough for frost to be on the grass until noon time; it's been cold dreary rain a few times; and mostly decent weather where it's warm but not needing fans.
I'm planning on setting up as early as possible as it's still taking me some time to assemble the booth and this will be the first outdoor show for me this year. Along with all that, I'm going for the skyscraper look with the 20" extensions to the Propanels and trying for the first time two foot leg extensions for the tent legs.
Back to Queeny Park; this year the organizers had a team of three photographers going around getting crowd and artist interaction shots. They had plenty of artist booth shots in the past but not enough PR shots of customers and artists together interacting. I gave them a few shots of the panorama shots I took up at the top of the bleachers as no one thought to do that. The full file looks better than the small resolution one I had to post on here with the 750 pixel max length.
We have a weekend off. Actually we only scheduled 3 shows for the spring .... put a fork in it because we are done.
Last fall dd (20 yo) had an angiogram to place a pulmonary valve all related to congenital heart defect. That procedure failed due to not being able to properly place the valve. The cardiologist doing the procedure said she'd need open heart surgery to get it done correctly. With this information we purposely planned a light spring thinking it would be done this spring. As things would have it, it has not yet been done but most likely get done late this May or early June. We just met yesterday with the cardiologist and he will present her case at conference in a couple of weeks. Her case is complicated due to her heart defect, curvatures in her spine, and history. None of us look for sympathy, dd leads a pretty typical life working part-time considering her health. Mentally she is fine.
So with that information in mind dh and I are attempting to very carefully plan shows for the fall that are not too far from home. We probably will schedule a light schedule, up to 3 shows, due to dd's health. We don't want to leave her home due to her recovery from surgery, plus she is a big asset to setting up and running the booth. We understand she will probably still have limitations. (Been there, done that with previous heart surgeries.)
I would rather have 3 shows scheduled that are selected with scalpel precision based on our resources, ability to travel only so far, and ability to make money than 1/2 a dozen that puts dd's health in jeopardy.
So this weekend I am going to try my hand at some crafts at home. I want to try some mixed media and maybe work on painting some pieces, both wood and glass.
