Yep, that's a departure -- one of the few times of the year when the days just run together and I hope you are all having a great season.

I'm heading off to LA to visit my kids and grandkids with a light heart. My husband's long illness always made it tough enjoying those visits. We'll be ice skating going to some concerts, parties, eating and laughing a lot. Scott Huntley (exec director of the Columbus Arts Festival who also is part of the Tournament of Roses Parade) is even finding us seats for the Parade on New Years Day.

  • Sounds like a wonderful time, Connie.  Hope it is just as much fun as it sounds.  Our daughter's family, including the most important, our 2 year-old granddaughter visited from Australia in November.  Time with the grandkids is the most wonderful time!

    • Beautiful saddle!

Connie, I'm glad that you are going away to have a good time.

Last year at this time my husband and I were caring for both of our mothers at the same time, who have both passed. We are leaving tomorrow for a slow road trip to FL and back, with a stop in GA.

Going to be in Miami for a day-somewhere I have never been!

  • I'll be in Florida for the New Year at the Estero Fine Art Show Jan 2 and 3. Anyone else going to be there?
    • I did the show a couple of years ago.  We'll be in the area, Matt.  If we decide to walk the show I'll look you up.  Hope it goes well for you!

  • This old elf came through and got a little girl trick rider's saddle and gear done in time. I'm finishing up some strap orders before Jean and I head over to the Western Slope to spend Christmas with grand kids. That means crossing the Rocky Mountains to western CO for all the flat landers LOL. I still have two more saddles to finish by year's end - doubtful.  The inlays in the photos are all dark purple metallic. No idea why they come out dark blue.

    • Gorgeous!  Some little girl is really lucky!  Richard, have you ever run into a leather worker, painter, sculptor, goes by Dr.C?  He's a retired surgeon from Louisiana, but has a place in Jackson, WY.
