Hi, I'm Ernie Komarek, new to art fairs and ArtFairInsiders. I look forward to learning everything I can about art fairs and selling art. Art has been my hobby for many years and I'm ready to make it a full time career rather than retire. I'm interested in building my own circuit of art fairs mainly in the western states.
I'm a self employed architect/planner and specialize in mountain and rural properties, log home plans, resort planning, ski areas and guest ranch designs. Painting has been my hobby, but I've had some experience in architectural rendering, advertising art, map making and photography. I paint in acrylics, watercolor and multi-media and my subject matter comes from where I live and places I've been in the rocky mountain region. My paintings of landscapes and wildlife subjects range from realism to impressionism.
Once I learn more about art fair life hopefully I can contribute my experiences to the community. Looks like a great site to explore and many interesting people to meet here.

Hi Ernie, I'm not a painter but you are welcome to stop by at visit at the Colorado shows I am doing this summer to talk about logistics etc. Schedule is on my web page: www.sherersaddlesinc.com. I just finished a show at my church last weekend and just finished Grand Jct. Reviews are on this site under Colorado Shows.
Hi Richard, Thanks for the reply. You may not be a painter, but I do remember drooling over your saddles in the past, maybe Estes Park? I'm too late to enter the EP show this year, but plan to attend anyway. It's less than one hour from home so I'm bringing the wife and my fly rod. I'll look for you on Labor day.
Welcome to Art Fair Insiders.
I didn't see a Colorado-specific Group when I joined this site, but found several Colorado artists were members of the Southwest and Pacific Coast group, so I became a member of that to keep tabs on more western events and fairs.
Here is a link if you want to check out the group. http://www.artfairinsiders.com/group/southwest-and-pacific-coast-ar...
The members are always helpful with newbie questions (I am one as well.)
Thanks Camryn,
I joined up to keep up on the western activity. I've been told that artists with western subject matter should sell better in the west. Some of the SW sites might be interesting, especially for a "snowbird" trip in the winter months. I'm getting a late start on 2014, but maybe catch up to you at one of the Colorado shows later this year or in 2015.
I should have also said: I'm based in Colorado, as well (central Denver.)
My husband/collaborator is also an architect by training -- small world.
It sure is a small world and funny how us architects find each other. I hope to meet up someday. I'm preparing for my first show in Great Falls, MT next month. My son-in-law is helping me frame paintings and construct my booth. He is also an architect by training! He works for the C.M. Russell Museum and has access to a fine shop to work in. I mailed a few paintings to him to get a start at framing. One day he was helping out with a private tour by Reba McIntyre and she made some nice comments about my work. Good place to get some artistic inspiration, too. Can't wait to go.
