Howard Alan Events cancels Chevy Chase, MD Show

Well this message is lovely, AFTER accepting full payment for participation in the show. Seems they would work out the details before soliciting submissions and show fees! I hope they plan to refund all applicant fees as well:

Greetings Applicants,

Thank you for your recent submission to The Chevy Chase Art Festival that was scheduled to take place on September 21^st & 22^nd, 2013. HAE has a full show ready to go however, we are not receiving the support and backing that we require from the venue in order to make this a successful first year show. Therefore, we are moving the show to Legacy Village in Cleveland, Ohio. This is a very successful, well-established location in which we have been producing "Art in the Village” for the past 23 years in June. If you are interested in applying for this show, you may do so through zapp.

We will gladly refund your application fee or if you are an active artist with us, we can credit your account. Please email Jacque@ArtFestival.com with your response. We appreciate receiving your response in writing no later than July 1st, 2013.

I think I will go the refund route for the show. Since I am already doing the Arlington show next weekend(unless it gets canceled also). Since I live in the Northern Virginia area I was in hopes of keeping travel expenses down for a couple of shows anyway. This makes two of their shows in my area that they have canceled. The Inner Harbor show in Baltimore and this one. Maybe I will apply to a Paragon show that is in the area on that same Sept. weekend to keep expenses to a minimum.

  Have you been to Cleveland yet, Elle? Closer than Chevy Chase for you, isn't it? and this is a nice location in that city. It is ethnically diverse and worth a try.
