This is something I work with artists on for a few years now. The best advice I can offer is ask yourself what theme do you want to convey to your target marketing audience? Contemporary and industrial? Traditional? Think about height and how you can create height in your display and how you would like it to look. Color - what are some reoccuring colors you use in your work/business (like with your website or business cards)? Lastly think about transporting, setting up your display and breaking it down - it needs to be easy and not heavy and bulky. I could spend hours talking about this, but the following is a photo of my display. I also highly recommend just going to shows and seeing what works and doesn't work and what you can use to adapt to your own display. - Michelle
I added a photo of the booth shot I am using currently to my photos. It is not a art show shot of course. I am still working on it but I am using a black/white theme to attract attention.
I would like to see it/them too. I have the cadillac of tents, but my interior/display is lacking. I try to pack as light as possible, maybe that's my problem.
'Round the Fountain Art Festival has artists pics and boothshots which show a wide range of set-ups. Click on the 2007 artists button and scroll thru pages. http://www.roundthefountain.org/
Larry,
How great to have your info within this forum. Not only does this provide "newbies" with a better grasp, but it reminds us "old timers" to freshen up a bit. I tend to give my booth a new look every year and reading your articles help me keep it interesting.
Thanks
Linda
