Let's meet up. Will you be at any art fairs this weekend? How about the extravaganza in Minneapolis where you'll find Uptown, Powderhorn and Loring Park? I know a bunch of you are heading there and setting up today. How about Glenview in Chicago, or Bay Harbor or Colorado. Those last two sound like dream destinations.

I'm driving up to Lake Okoboji to check out the art fair there. Got turned down two years ago, but want to go look it over to see if it goes on the list for next year.
I should be in bed already, haha.
Home again, home again, jiggidy jig....
I'd say if you are local, Okoboji would be a good venue. For me, a 3.5 hour drive, hotel...probably not a good bet. It's a cute little festival (about 100 artists in a park just off the lake) that is nice and open. Lots of people, but my impression is that folks are there to enjoy the watersports, and they walk the festival because it's there.
I saw no signage in town or near Arnold's Park (the amusement park area) advertising the show, which was a red flag for me. Water, restrooms, and trash cans were not to be found in the show area. Another red flag. Lots of jewelry - no maille, I remember only one silversmith, the rest were primarily strung pieces (with the usual "juried in as glass but selling glass JEWELRY" sprinkled around) and a few wire wrappers.
I ended up buying some note cards from a photographer, a stained glass hummingbird for my garden (HORRORS...."GARDEN ART") and a vase from Connie Braunschweig (I have a number of her pieces).
It was a fun day, and I'm glad my friend and I went up there!
Nothing like a busman's holiday, Lynn! We often attended art fairs when we weren't doing one -- checking out the next big thing and adding to our information of possible events. Very smart.
It's Pine, Arizona. We are about a l hour drive east of Flagstaff or 2 hour drive north of Phoenix. People flock up here from Phoenix in the summer to escape the heat.
