I did not know that pansies, petunias, and geraniums were edible!
The deer haven't seen these so far. The grass in the park is far nicer now than in winter!
As for skunks and the English...
My friend, Roberta had a friend visit her from England...they were driving around the area and the British woman asked, "What is that smell?" When Roberta told her skunk...her friend was thrilled for the new experience of an "American Skunk" ... no skunks in England!
Yes. We have squirrels and annoying chipmunks (ground squirrels) who dig up everything you plant. One year I planted some lilies ... in a few days they dug them all up and chewed the bulbs to pieces! And they didn't care that dog scent was everywhere on our tiny yard!
I checked this morning and the little beasts were digging in my new planters. GRRRrrr.
Recently a friend was telling me about some foreigners who had been visiting the U.S. When they were asked what impressed them the most they said they were amazed at all the wild animals running around our yards.
Wild animals? she said. It turns out they were alarmed by the squirrels. They'd better stay away from my house.
