What's the best art/craft show in Nashville?

I've seen a few listed: TACA has one in spring and fall, and there's the American Artisan one. Can someone share their experiences with these? It's at least an 8 hour drive for me and I'd love to get an idea for which one I should shoot for.

Thanks.

  • If you're going to do a Centennial Park show you have to do the fall one unless you're a Tennessee artist. As I understand, the fall show (was two weekends ago) is the only one open to outside artists. It's hard to evaluate the show this year because it was almost 100 deg. the whole time (and out booth faced afternoon sun). We said "welcome to our sauna." This is unusual for Tenneseee this time of year and, even so, I'd consider the crowd decent. My son and daughter in law live in Nashville and tell me "this is the show everyone goes to." We did okay but I hope to go back. It's across the street from Vanderbilt in the most beautiful setting and, if the weather had been good, I think it would be a pretty good show. The first time I saw the show was parent's weekend at Vanderbilt - my son went there - and there is a lot of money, wealthy parents (me excluded, scholarship student). The following weekend is St. James Court in Louisville (only 2-1/2 hrs. away) so worth considering. - Ann
