  • For me I haven't been to any shows to say what is new or different that is selling well.  Also, I do think it is too soon to say - in my opinion.  However I can say despite selling at art fairs, and on the rare occasions I get let loose from my "cage" I am always attracted to the unusual.  I love gardening and attracted to garden art whether it is windmill related, metal sculptures, "yard birds", fossil like structures for fountains or as stepping stones, etc.  especially during the drab months of winter.  I do like paper art - journal and book makers.  I have photography and one or two prints - this doesn't seem to go out of style for me, but have to be in the mood to buy 2D art - that is just me.  I wonder if anyone else can vote for their favorite type of art that also may be different and possible good seller.
  • It always surprises me. You never know what will sell at different times. Jewelry seems to always sell, it could be any kind and 15 jewelers to choose from, they usually always sell, and half of them appear to be buy/sell.
  • I'm a photographer: so far, sales of my Gallery Wraps (photos printed on canvas, then wrapped around the edge of the 1.5-inch stretcher frame) are down from last year.  Not sure why (though it's early yet).  But I'm seeing more and more photographers offering them, so maybe they're becoming "old hat."
  • Across the board sales seem to be up for this year, at least in Florida. Even the high end sculpture and 2d seems to be finding some buyers.
