Here is an e-mail I have sent to Zapp today, Please read and help to make this change happen in their web site, The JAS are doing it since the beginning.
My husband and me are jewelry artists who participate in at list 30 shows a year,
We apply to at list 80 shows a year to be able to do that.
Most of the shows we apply to are via Zapp, some via JAS and some paper or via show web site.
I e-mailed you two weeks ago about a feature that you don't have in Zapp and your colleagues from JAS have.
I didn't get any respond from you.
The Feature is:
The option to manege my application after I have submitted and paid,
and before the application's deadline.
We are artists, we create new works everyday,
we also change our booth setting from time to time.
We want to apply early to shows, if we can afford to pay early,
so that our application will be reviewed,
as early as possible among the other hundreds of applications.
In the JAS web site we are able to that.
we are able to replace images,
edit our descriptions,
replace our booth image
and edit our artist statement,
after have we have applied and paid the application fee for a show.
We artists really need this flexibility.
I am sure that your experts can work on this feature
and keep our applications unlocked until the application's deadline.
It will allow us to submit better applications and to correct mistakes if those happen
I'll look Forward to your response.
Thank you

I still hope they'll do the change, but I learned that there is a way to change our images via the event administrator, but it is up to them ...
Hi Nurit,
I'm so happy that we got a chance to talk on the phone yesterday, and that I was able to help clarify your concern.
As I mentioned yesterday, your suggestion and every suggestion that we get from users concerning ZAPP™ is important to us. We take them all seriously and log each one for consideration for future enhancements. Please know that as a non-profit organization we work hard to constantly update the site based on the feedback of artist users like you, but because there are thousands of artists, sometimes the work of collecting and cataloging each suggestion takes time. Beyond that, our development team then works to build each suggestion into an enhancement to the system, which takes even more time.
Regarding your request, there is an event-level option for accomplishing exactly what you describe. Each show administrator has the ability to move a received application back to a status that allows the artist to edit the images and data and resubmit, but that decision is solely up to the event administrator. If you have applied to an event and you wish to make a change to your application, please contact the event administrator for that event and ask to have your application status changed so that you can edit your application. The ZAPP™ team cannot inform or make changes to any event's policies or workflow protocols.

Their response was thank you for the suggestion, we appreciate it, we'll put it on our list,
but we cannot say if and when we can add this feature of The option to manage my application on Zapp after submission and payment are done.

I can tell you from an administrator's point of view (running a zapp application process) that it has not been all wine and roses either. BUT love the customer service at Juried Art Services.
Shows extend deadlines when they don't have enough applications, when they are looking for a better quality pool of applicants from which to choose. It really isn't about wanting extra fees, it is about wanting to have the best possible show.
Tough as it is for artists surviving today, for most shows it isn't easy either. I have been involved with and know about many shows with a shrinking pool of applicants.
switch images on my application. Why are so many shows extending deadlines? is it they just don't have enough applications or just want want extra fees..
