Saturday was stressful with minimum sales and a storm that came and went. Sunday went much better with a large sale and better weather. The organizers seemed accommodating although they fell short on a few things, I could see they were trying to make the participants feel respected. The event was visited by locals rather than tourists. Lots of children and lots of dogs. Friendly folks out for a sunny day in the park.
All in all, I'd say it was a good event, ( but it's relative based on my sales I know). It was good to meet another artfair insider there too since I'm a newbie.

ruth could you send me a real email to boltpeople@yahoo.com then i can send you pictures of what this lady in phx is selling.
right from the promoters mouth
Lots of artists suggested that we move the dates as September has been too hot – so we moved the dates this year. Ah well, can’t please everybody. Thanks for the note.
a lot of the artists i know do candy dance then art i n park in boulder city, then some go to albu for balloon festival the only thing wrong with art in park there is a lot of buy sell and the promoter does not want to listen to use the artist about all the buy sell all she is interested in is making money and filling the park. thanks for the update on shows i completely forgot about those shows.
Steve & Pat - if you are looking for shows Labor Day weekend, I heard Kings Mountain, Mammoth Lakes and the Millbrae Art and Wine are all good shows, plus of course, there is Sausalito which I've heard is almost impossible for jewelry artists to get into. The weekend after Labor Day is Mountain View and Capitola, both shows that I've heard positive things about. After that is Lafyette and Mill Valley, so 3 weekends in a row with shows in Northern CA that I've heard positive reports about from artists who are willing to do the drive from WA state to Northern CA for multiple shows, then Genoa Candy Dance if you want to head back to Nevada. We had been thinking of these shows plus Summerlin, then Candy Dance until Summerlin moved the show to mid-October which doesn't make sense for us from a driving perspective if we can't combine it with other shows.
thanks for tip about tapestry, i know they have moved it from july 4th to labor day. i was told castle rock is a good show in co. i will email the person who wants to get rid of the equipment. maybe if you do not want it, you may know someone who does.
Don't know anything about any of these shows as Summerlin is as far west as I have been. Thanks Steve and Ruth for the tips. I will see what I can work into my schedule.
what kind of equipment? also, I've heard Tapestry is one to avoid, show went through some financial difficulties and is having trouble coming back from the brink.
i have a question. met a lady this weekend who has jewelry equipment for sale know anyone looking for equipment. i do art in park in boulder city, then i am going to do patagonia, then i guess summerlin. there is capitola in the bay area. also tapestry and talent in san jose on labor day. then there is mt. view the 2nd weekend of sept.
Pat - Steve mentioned the Half Moon Bay, MLA also puts on another show so they have shows 2 weekends in a row in the Bay area. I've not done those shows before but we are applying this year, shows in the PNW are limited in September and October, Art in the Pearl, Boise Art Museum Show and Issaquah Salmon Days are the big ones for Sept/Oct. up here, all of them hard to get into which is why we were looking at other options.
The other thought is do balloon festival in albu. which is first and 2nd weekend in oct. the only problem that i have had it is a hard show to get into. then there is a show the weekend after candy dance, boulder city art in park then patagonia in az and then come back and do summerlin. i have been rejected from balloon so many times i am not going to apply any more. and what is interesting is that there is no one doing what i do at that show. three and two years ago was rejected and last year waitlisted. i fig i am tired of supporting a promoter so i will find something else. for those that want to do the bay area there is half moon bay with MLA productions
