Okay
Last year before I did Laumeier the area hit by flood and tornado a month before the show. Let said the crowd was very low according to another artist. I asking how you believe that will affect the upcoming shows in the area. I know is Texas and is bond to happen but I wont anyone going through that pain. Why can they just stay in area that wont hurt anyone.

I did a show in Dallas this past weekend. The Deep Ellum Art and Music Festival. Crowds were great, sales were good. It rained all day Sunday, and I still sold a lot. No rain would have been better, but still worth doing.
So May should not have any repercussions from the 14 (yes, it was 14 tornadoes), that we had a week ago.
I never felt that people are steering wrong way. Thank you for your concern. In any trip if feel tired I pull over. In the way back is bit harder bc I will be close to home. I may try to get to St Louis and finsih the trip next day. I hope to watch the Rangers and may see if I get to St Louis in the way back.
Take two days coming back, too. Better safe than sorry Oscar. Is it worth the risk? No one is steering you wrong here.
Thank you and yes I was the one asking about driving in one day. I will leave Wednesday and cover most of the ground and finish Thursday. Coming back may be different but I may also do it in 2 days.
Like Jim said, a storm this far in advance isn't going to scare away the crowds. I lived in Dallas for 11 years and unless the tornado sirens were going off you didn't see people running inside at every weather threat. Unfortunately that part of the country is used to it, we've talked to all the family members we still have in Texas and it doesn't sound like they are changing any of their immediate outdoor plans, we have family spread across the Dallas area from Midlothian to Forney (about 60 miles apart and some in between) and while some had softball size hail, they already repairing and getting on with life.
However, this is one more reason I would not recommend that you make the drive from Chicago in one day (I think you were the one who asked about that last week), you never know when a storm is going to hit and leave you stuck somewhere waiting for the hail, wind and etc. to pass before it's safe to drive again.
It's Texas. They are used to everything being big: storms, freeway ramps, skyscrapers, horizons... Richardson, which is where the Cottonwood festival takes place, doesn't appear to have been struck by the two tornadoes that ravaged the Dallas-Ft. Worth area today. They may have gotten hail and damaging winds, but hey, that's nuthin'.
That said, this is tornado season in the south, so there could be bad weather anytime between now and the first weekend in May, when the show takes place. If the weather remains fair for the show, you will have a good crowd. Your spot will likely be in the field, where they have about three long rows of booths back to back, with traffic lanes in front. The seasoned vets get the spots under the shady trees. The Friday night party is generally good, if you can get there and get in line to set up early enough to go.
You shouldn't have any issues from the storm today. It's generally a fairly local crowd. People from Richardson may go to Main St. in Fort Worth, but the smaller shows don't attract the bigger crowds.
Fricking typo--"now"
Good on you mate. Know I know.
Working with the blogs it help me at lot.
What should I be expecting at the Cottonwood Art Fair after the storm hit today? The show is the first week of May.
Nels, I am from Puerto Rico, I get more ps if you do not tell that you did not understand me. :)
