Has anyone done this show? It is at the edge of WI and MN. I'm debating it, but don't know anyone else who has done it, and can't find much information. Any info would be great, thanks!
Marc,ok, well I was just wondering if you could tell me more details about the event, like if it is possible to stake in to the ground, or weights only? And is it right on the water, or away from it a little. I had a bad show at the end of september a couple of years ago, and learned some lessons about weather at that time of year, so I'm looking for a show where I can at least stake into the ground. Also, would you say it is more of a contemporary crowd, or a cabin/lakehouse/northwoods crowd? I do wildlife photography and handmade birchbark frames, so it definitely works well in some places and not as well in others. Thanks!
I've done this show the past three years and am doing it again. Beautiful site. Great people. Run by the Phipps Gallery which is a huge non-profit museum type organization. Beautiful location on the St. Croix river. It's a small crowd, probably 7-10K but buyers. Per person, it's my best show.
My sister and I did this show twice. I like this show as it is nicely juried for quality and also variety. We are more in the fine craft category. In the colder months I sell fleece hats, scarfs, pillows and throws. My Sisters sells sterling silver jewelry.
The first year we did very well. The second year my sister did somewhat less than the year before and I sold almost nothing. My theory for this was that it happened to be incredibly hot that weekend. It was so bad that an artist next to us got heat stroke tearing down on Sunday and an ambulance had to be called☹️. It was probably pretty hard for people to think about trying on a hat in that heat. I think I am going to need to sell painted clothing through September and maybe not switch to fleece until at least October or maybe even November.
Anyways - I think it is a good value at $150. I live close by in Minneapolis so for me is definitely worth doing and the people at the Phipps and all the volunteers are lovely.

It's on grass and right on the river but of course if you're not in the row facing the river you see tents. The crowd is not north woods.

I don't know how to friend here and not sure I want to.
I think you have to "friend me", then it will show up. Can't figure out how to pm someone without friending them.
I didn't get it. What was it?
Marc, I tried to send you a message, but not sure if it went through...

thanks for the info, that is good to know. It is a pretty far drive for me, so I'm still on the fence about it.
