Finding out about Sonny Dalton's passing. Sonny was such a wonderful man, friend and just a unique individual 
person. With his layback personality, attitude and demeanor, it was outrageous to watch people come into his booth and be totally awe struck, of his creative mind and ability. I too was, so when I first meet him at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival I fell in love with him and his work. Which I knew some day I "wanted" one of his special works of Art. ( I tried to trade with him), but he told me, he only need just so much Leather. Luckily I was able to purchase one from him, as you can see in the picture. My Most Prize Possession. Sonny loved to do JAZZ fest - probably his favorite show.
I remember seeing Sonny's work at the JAZZ Fest also. His work was one of those that was a definite jaw dropper and put a grin on my face for sure.
I wish I had had the chance to walk into Sonny's booth. I have seen a few pieces of his, but never felt the impact of walking into his booth. I did enjoy chatting with him occasionally when he would call and talk to Connie and Norm. He was one creative artist!
