It's a garage sale alright. I loved it, it was hilarious to just throw stuff on tables. I heard the prettier you made your booth, the more you got laughed at. Met some more nice artists & made more contacts.d and got to finally meet the world famous Bonnie Blandford & of course see Connie again! This was only the third garage sale I've done in my time, but it was the most (profitable?)/money I've made at a show like this. I've changed my framing style for my photography for the upcoming year so I was glad to get rid of a lot of the older stuff. It was definitely worth doing and will be more than happy to go back next year assuming I don't sell out during the year.... down and dirty for sure. It's amazing the difference between 50% off and 75% off does for moving product. Happy Sales...

We exhibited at the Garage Sale Art Fair for the 5th or so time this year and we just love it! The drive up got a little dicey at the end on Friday evening (no Friday set-up, so we don't try to get in earlY), and Sat. morning was still a little slick. Load in is easy; there are lots of doors to use, and we were pretty well ready to go by the 9:20 opening (they'll open a tad early if the lines get long). We were solidly busy all day long. It almost felt like 20 years ago!
I love this show.
Bonnie and Michael are openly receptive to new ideas and suggestions. They're hardly needed, however, as everything seems to roll smoothly and I believe profits are good for all.
We'll certainly be back as long as we can get in. Thanks so much, B & M. You know what you're doing; big time.
On Saturday morning we braved the really bad roads to get to Kalamazoo to stand in line to get into the show! A very cheering site, for sure. I'm not sure, Peter, can artists set up the night before or is only in the morning? Fancy displays are not in sight, but what is in sight is hordes of people carrying armloads of goods out of the building. Bonnie Blandford and Michael Kifer do an excellent job of putting together this event including excellent marketing. It is a kind of word-of-mouth event, anyone who attends tells their friends who in turn their friends. I brought home a cutting board, some lovely leaded glass that is in the window where I sit typing this right now with a rainbow falling over the keyboard, and of course, jewelry for my daughters-in-law. My friend Barb carried out a heavy bag of goods also. I saw many other artists who are on this forum and it was a pleasure to see familiar faces Will you please chime in and give us your take on the event? Art fairs in the upper Midwest are so few and far between this time of the year.
