The tent is up in the side yard, and my husband is shooting with his real camera. Before I finalize this, I'd appreciate any comments you all might have. This is pretty much all the art I have right now, so I can't add any.
I like the idea of putting black behind the paintings, especially that large one in the front. The bottom of the painting hanging below the Flourish panel is distracting. Those 2 very dark paintings next to the large flowers are just not right with the floral. Is there another arrangement you can make to the right of the large one, which doesn't include those?
Thanks for posting your pic Carrie. I am doing my first art show this weekend and the comments here gave me advice on how to display my paintings. Thanks!
Thanks, Cheryl. Because of the big vertical, I can't get all the tops of the paintings equal. I can even them out from the back wall to the side walls, though. Thank you for pointing that out. And as for rugs, my nice ones from the house are too distracting!
Hi Carrie, I'd put covers on the walls and hang the art so all the tops of the paintings are on the same plane. You could even use sheets as a temporary back drop for the jury photos. And if you have a nice 8x10 rug you could borrow from your house even better! Good luck!
Melanie, thanks for that idea. The tent is still up, so I will take the front wall off. Duh. I have a few new paintings I'm going to try in there today, too, in symmetrical and a-symmetrical set-ups. Geri, thank you for your compliment on the big back-wall piece. And Barrie Lynn, yes, I am going to use at least a couple of the back-wall pieces for my jury shots. That's one of the reasons I'm redoing the booth shot; all the visible paintings from the current one sold.
Carrie you it may be too late now that it is probably dark where u r but why do you have your front tent wall on and rolled up? I would take that off. Also I don't thing the rugs are doing you any favors. You could get a clean floor look easily with someone who knows how to correct that on a computer
Actually, David, you could move in a little closer and raise your camera height (from 48 to 58 inches high) a bit so you don't see up into the canopy top. I've learned that judges don't care about seeing lights, either.

where are the new pics posted??
Hi, Bon - I have posted a new arrangement of paintings. Thanks for the input.

Carrie, the picture in the middle is absolutely gorgeous!
