QUICK EARLY REPORT FROM KRASL AT ST. JOSEPH,MI.

Just a quickie.

Crowds filled the walkways.  Cool breezes off the lake kept the high 80s temps livable--and people were buying--mostly lowend.  But artists were making money at this usually very reliable show.  I did today, what it took me three days at Boston Mills to do.  A fellow photog from Iowa doubled me, hope he is doing shots of Patron tonite--I know, I would--more on Monday--Walter Winchell reporting live from St. Joe.

A lot of you heard that my wife, ellen marshall, fainted while setting up and was taken by ambulance to the hospital.  Thanks for all your Alohas.  She is doing just fine and will make an appearance tomorrow at the show.  As usual, beautiful blondes always know how to make a great impact--but an ambulance, come on Ellen, maybe on a great horned steer.  Thanks for your salutations everybody.  She is going to make it.

  • I enjoy your blog posts, Nels, so I came to your booth at KRASL to meet you. But the crowds were too thick in there! So I hope to meet you at another fair. I'm glad to hear that Ellen is okay.
  • I saw the ambulance go by but I'm amazed that this is the first I heard of it.  Take care of yourself, Ellen.
  • This may have been too close to call, Nels, after last week's post about "Intimations of Mortality!" Maybe a case of being careful about what you write! I was glad to talk with Ellen on Sunday and she looked pretty good. I hope she is fine now and out of the heat.

Looking forward to more info on St. Joe.

  • Glad to hear the show is going great guns and that Ellen is OK and due back on deck :)
  •  Ellen I hope all is well, and you make a speedy recovery:  It must be tough keeping up with a 35 year old man in a 66 year old body. Nels old buddy; your recent immortality writings were great; I remember celebrating your 40th in Palm Harbor at 9 a.m.; remember we should all continue to stop and smell the roses each day, thankful for what we do and who we have influenced with our art. Take it from one who is 13 years old again, after an untimely death at 45: Take GOOD care -thinking of both of you-  Fair Winds
