Just wanted to share our experience. Have not yet decided that I want to go the Light Dome style quite yet - Looks like a ton of work to me. We used EZ Ups from Sams for years, and last fall we decided to upgrade to a King Canopy Goliath. What a difference. Weighs the same as the EZ Up, about 3 inches longer in the bag, better bag, better top and sidewalls, and exponentially stronger frame. Legs are hexagonal, crossmembers easily 3 times stronger than EZups. All aluminum, no 'finger tearing push buttons', and just all around far better. It's no Light Dome, but for $400 at Sam's Club online, we are more than happy with it. When we spring for the Light Dome, this will be a super 2nd canopy / backup for years and years. Oh, and it goes up and down like an EX Up but goes back in the bag so much easier!

Thanks, Steve - I was looking at the "PRO" http://www.eurmax.com/pro1010pl4walls.html, the Premium is the $329. The difference is the leg size, 1.7" vs 2.2". I would spend the extra hundred, for sure! This bag, like the King Canopy, zips down both sides to the bottom, making it super easy to actually USE the bag, unlike the EZup 'stuff it in there if you can' style.
The price $329 includes the sides and a nice bag, also nice carrying case for the canopy with wheels
Saw that, and the one with the 4 sides is $439, same ballpark as the King Canopy. Looks like the parts are interchangeable! Great tents, for sure. The 2" Hex legs are many times stronger than square. It's simple physics.
Just checked their add and the sale price has gone up to $329, and the top is 600d polyester. All I know is its alot nicers then any EZ up I've ever seen.
Steve, looking at the Eurmax online, the cover seems to be fabric, same as the King Canopy and EZ up, not Vinyl. Did you find one with vinyl? Appears very similar though.
Thanks to all for the comments. I am a senior woman, working alone, and I feel that the only tent I can handle is a pop up type tent. I am currently in my second Caravan and it has been great, but I'm always looking for something stronger and more waterproof. I will be checking out the all the tents mentioned.
Any other suggestions?
Good information. We got an Undercover, also aluminum, but has a waterproof top. When we had the EZup we had a whole selection of replacement parts because they bent so easily! Sort of an EZup boneyard! The Undercover is so much easier to put up, I can actually put it up by myself, and so much sturdier! I will look into the King Canopy if we ever have to change. So far, we are loving the Undercover.
Check out Eurmax pro canopies that are on sale for $299 and free shipping. I got mine in 4 days and I love it. They have a great web sit, just type in Eurmax.
Steve, that is correct. WATERPROOF requires a sealed Vinyl canopy cover. This is a fabric cover, and while better than an EZup, and 1/2 the seams (4 panels vs 8), it is water resistant, not waterproof. What I have done is taken one of my EZup canopy covers, and if it is calling for rain, putting that over the King Canopy top. Another option is to find a Vinyl replacement. Downside is Vinyl is a lot heavier. Another option is to purchase tent waterproofing and spray the canopy periodically.
I just went looking for reviews of this and the reviewer warned that is not waterproof.
