Hope you'll join me and Internet marketing guru, author Scott Fox (my son) as we celebrate 10 years of informational websites about the art fair business. We're doing a countdown on the Ten Most Informational Links on ArtFairInsiders.com with the stories behind them.
This site has hosted some fascinating writers over the years and we'll highlight their helpful info.
AND we will begin the drawing for the Pledge Drive Prizes.
We have 65 prizes. We will not be giving the prizes directly, but we'll announce the list and the winners can choose their own prize. Of course, the first name called will get first choice, etc.
Will you be a winner? Odds of winning are very good, maybe 2.5 to 1!
Will you call in and tell us your art fair story? Has this site been helpful to you in ferreting out the best shows, staying away from the bad ones, finding the best resources, making some friends? If so, pledge and also call in to the live show. We'd love to hear from you. We're old friends by now.

Thanks for the call, Barry. I'm looking forward to your great links as I know there is an amazing amount of content on the site.
I once started to go through all the posts to come up with 50 of the best informational threads posted to AFI. Unfortunately, I lost interest after a few hours. But here's one from two years ago on high end canopies:

I am going to be teaching encaustic at Penland for two weeks in June, so that takes me out of the June shows....Central Penn is the next one in July and then Port Clinton in Chicago and 4th Street in Bloomington. I got into State Street but declined, it was the week after Central Penn and I just didn't think I could manage both. Maybe next year. Hope I'll see you at one Connie!
Thanks so much, Margaret. This says so much of what we are trying to do, specifically help artists learn the ropes of this business and support them in their chosen careers. I love the people I've met here and appreciate all the feedback I get. It means a lot to me to hear from you.
And we will meet as I always need hugs. What upcoming shows do you have?
AND thanks for the pledge!
Just wanted to say thank you for AFI, Connie. The service you provide for all of us art gypsies is incredibly important. When I started out in 2010 I was so green around the gills and AFI was the place that just by reading the blog I could find answers to all my questions. The amount of knowledge I have aquired from then to now is staggering ( I started with blue moire curtains that I made-horrible) and I have always felt that you and the others on the site had my back. There have been some pretty interesting and heated discussions over the years that have opened me up to others valid opinions and I try to keep an open mind, even if it's not my thing because we are all on the the same road in this profession. Thanks to your son who behind the scenes has helped far more than any of us realize. Thanks to Barry and Nels who always make me laugh, their wisdom about this business is immeasurable and to all the members that add to the discussions on this site. I have learned so much and recommended you to countless people starting out. AFI is a backbone to me, I consult the reviews, check in on what is going on and when you are a working artist with a studio practice that keeps you from seeing a lot of people and constantly replenishing getting ready for the next show, the lifeline you provide and the discussions that ensue always make me feel part of a bigger whole. I appreciate you far more than you ever could imagine. I know that there are many that feel this way. One day, if we ever meet Connie, you are going to get the biggest hug from me, I am one of your biggest fans.
