Pet Peeve - " Invisible Organizers"

I detest going to a show where the organizers don't come by the booth and introduce themselves. And, there are quiet a few of them.  It makes the whole thing so "dirty." Organizers organize, they are not in charge of results. Win, lose or draw, they do their best, at least have the guts to face your clients (the artists).

Well, that said. last week was Magic City, kudos to Eileen Kuntzman, she was everywhere, at the end of the show she even turned up to help my wife and I load out!!!!

  • Amy Amdur and her staff are everywhere during a show. They are extremely helpful.
  • I agree! I hate when I never see the organizer! I just find it rude. We are there for YOU, show some respect.  Youngstown Arts Festival is great, they know everyone and remember everyone each year. It's wonderful. Kudos to those great organizers. We need more of them! :-)

  • Linda Piper of the fall  Gainesville art Festival is there in the am when you check in and comes around to each booth every year. I also  saw Eileen Kuntzman many times at Magic City this past weekend.

  • Bill is probably the only organizer I would recognize on sight.

  • Yeah, Bill is very accessible.

  • I'm with you on that one, Paul. A notable exception to the invisible organizer is Bill Kinney, of Paragon. He is self-described as "hands-on, obsessive and detail-oriented". And he is very visible, before, during and after the show.
