I am curious about the Paragon Fine Art Fests. Has anyone ever done any of the Texas shows? How about the Florida shows? I am looking for feedback to decide if they are worth appling for.
We have done Bill's shows for a few years now- what we see is a promoter who is in the trenches with the artists- he is one and he has been one..he knows the challenges we face and the passion we feel joy from.Every art show will not be a winner for any of us. Bill seeks out the demographics and knows the monied areas in the U.S. That is what we need for an expensive item- so we will follow him and believe in him- and the rest is up to us!
Douglas, do read Richard Sherer's blog right above yours about the taxes in Texas. Make sure you are aware of that hassle before you decide to do any Texas shows.
Paragon shows have been great for me. As Alison said, they are ART shows without the non art distractions. It is so nice to work with a promoter who is on the side of the artist and who puts his all into delivering a top notch quality show. He is on site and accessible at all times.
Bill works hard and has a lot of integrity. I have good relationships with nearly every promoter I've ever worked with, but Bill is the only one who ever called me to recommend that I NOT apply to certain of his shows because he didn't think they would be good markets for me.
Incidentally, if you type "Paragon" (no quotation marks) in the search window at the top of the page you can find everything that's been written about Paragon within this website.

I second what Larry and Geoff said. Bill's shows are true art shows, no stilt walkers, bouncy houses etc.

The Texas and Florida shows are new. But he has a good reputation and does everything possible to maximize sales for the artists.
