I am still a newbie and looking for options for Labor Day Weekend in Michigan. I have long since been rejected for the Art Beats and Eats, and not sure what other shows are worth considering. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Chris, Yes, that is the same show. Karen brought it down to a two-day show, which is really better because of all the parades on Monday. We are still in the process of building back up to what we used to be but I still do well there. The other show at Croswell, where we used to be, is filled with Hansen's windows, Tastefully Simple, etc. I think people are learning where we are again and this will be the third year in the new location. It's actually nicer than the old one.
Ah, I see this was started a year ago -- in fact, Arts, Beats & Eats is still open for another day or two. If interested call Lisa, 248-334-4600, to make sure. Kari, I wouldn't give up on that one.
Mary, I know this is an older post. Are you still doing the show in Romeo on Labor Day weekend? I just received an invitation from Artistic Reflections saying it is now a two day show. Is this the same group you did the show with? If so, how did you like it.
You don't mention what you do. I used to do the show in Algonac but switched to the Peach Festival years ago, where I now have a following (bless their hearts!) Most people there do well. It's a three-day show and you can set up on Friday. Monday is kind of slow while the parades are going on but people line up to get into the show all three days and come ready to spend money.
It might depend on your price point as to how well you do but my products are expensive and I do well. Tons of advertising and the promoter is a real pro at it. Security overnight, etc. There are also indoor spaces available.
We are moving to a new location so I don't know how that will affect things. The Lions Club wanted to add a Farmer's Market and flea market and the promoter said no way so we have moved. Knowing Karen, we should be fine.
Let me know what you do and if you'd like an application and I can mail one to you with a recommendation from me. Karen is looking for new and innovative items.
Yes, New Baltimore is worth a try. Last year was its first time out...and I know they really want this to work. Also, not sure if there is still room but I've always heard about huge crowds at the Peach Festival in Romeo. Franklin, MI, has a one day show on Labor Day itself.
Hi Kari.
I have just been accepted into Art on the Bay in New Baltimore. I think they are still looking for artists. Here is the information.
I hope this is a help to you. Call Judy
