I was wondering if anyone has done an arts and crafts show in San Diego in Little Italy. This show is in April and is not fine arts The Artwalk seems to be gears for mostly fine arts. If anyone has any info i would really appreciate it. I seem to have found a new market in the San Diego area
i am starting to get xmas orders and i sort of have a list of the ones i am going to try to get into. i am not taking the summer off like i did this past year. that was a mono. i fig i would double book some shows. take care.
thanks for trying, i know the show and have a few weeks to apply which i will do this week. it is little italy, and called art walk. heard it is mostly fine art but i fig what the heck. i think i am going to do vintage days in fresno ca 50,000 attend and the ones who have money are students and faculty,. so we will see and i will send you a report. only three shows left for me. two in new mexico and tempe. and then done for season. i did do the la jolla show which was soso. i do not think it is worth more than a days drive will try utah one more time but if rejected the devil with them and i mean that seriously.
Steve - talked to a few artists this weekend at our show in OR, none of them had gone as far south in CA as San Diego, they all had experience with Northern CA and AZ, but none had tried San Diego yet. Did talk to a couple who will be spending December in the area, trying shows for the first time so looking forward to catching up with them next spring to obtain their feedback. Good luck with your decision, love to hear how it turns out for you as we are thinking about San Diego for Dec. of 2012.
Agreed regarding not enough interaction from the West Coast Artists. I'll ask around this weekend, AFSB had mixed reviews on this one, but based on the sales reported, I think I would try it, especially if you're already building a market in San Diego. AFSB had it ranked in the top 200 shows nationally.
yes it is artwalk i believe it is in little italy it is like on april 28 & 29 or end of april beginning of may thanks seems no one on west coast or southwest read these posts. this site seems to be too much east of mississippi. that is the only downside.
Steve - sorry I missed this original posting a few days ago, we've been dealing with a family emergency and I'm just now starting to catch up on "regular life stuff". Is there a particular show for which you can provide the name for? Headed to OR for a show this weekend and I know we'll encounter a few artist friends who participate in CA shows, I can ask around for you if you can provide the name of the show.
