Las Olas II: a visit with Geri Wegner

Several of us were delighted to meet Ms Wegner this weekend.  She is a devoted Art Festival fan and AFI reporter.  Her generous contributions to this site are extremely valuable for providing a Patron's viewpoint.

  • Yup! Weston Geri. Now Barrington :)
  • Thanks Carla.  You used to live in Weston??  (lightning in Florida is the worst)  I live just south of Coral Gables and in Chicago, I live in Grayslake.
  • Geri Rocks! I finally know her face!! Where in FL do you live and where in Chicago?
  • thanks, Amy :)
  • I honestly don't know what to say.  I am not used to hearing myself described so wonderfully.   Thank you all very much.

Connie, the earrings are from the only gallery I buy art from  Gallery Morada, in Islamorada.  I'll ask Laurie the owner who made them.  The necklace is Amy Taylor.  The hat is MLFOA-good catch Connie.

  • Looks like to me Geri's tiara is from the Milwaukee Lakefront Festival...when we have our ArtFairInsiders.com meetup we'll all have to wear our art fair gear.
  • Patti...sing it sista! I daresay with such glowing comments I think you are part of the royal court, now...!! : )

  • Geri~

Bob and I loved meeting you- we follow you like an addiction! You tell it like it is, and with an unbiased view.We should ask you which shows to apply to and where to travel...but for now, we feel blessed to have met your highness!

  • Travis, I'm glad you had a good show. Connie (and Travis) thanks for featuring such a beautiful picture of our favorite patron (aka: Art Fair Goddess...she has a tiara to prove it...) Geri Wegner! She covers the Midwest and Florida art fairs with such aplomb, it was nice to see a little shout out. I've been grateful for her "take" on things for years, and think we are very blessed to have her opinions reflected here on AFI.
  • That's an interesting little factoid about that movie, Connie!

I'm glad to hear that Las Olas was boomin', too.  Maybe <knock on wood> we artists can take a deep breath and actually come out of survival mode in 2011!
