FF was very good to me . It was well run, clean and safe, a very nice community event. It's my first show after returning to Michigan- so I wasn't exactly sure what to expect- I have to say, not only did I earn back my investment but made an excellent profit. I would hope to return next year.
I try to give clear indication about the theme on my events to both artists and shoppers. As a result those that have appropriate work tend to do really well. Lisa it's a great idea to ask other artists what they think about an event. Probably the best way to get a usable answer. I do caution though that you need to find artists that do well at similar shows to what works for you. It's no value to know which shows are great for a $3000 and up sculptor if you sell $100 photographs.
I am doing FF this year and am very excited about it. I would say it probably depends on what you make because I have a friend who sold out last year!
Thanks Nancy. It has been so hard lately to decide which art fair to go to because of this economy. Any help steering me in the right direction is greatly appreciated. Yes we have lived here for about 24 years. Love it here. Heading south for 2 shows in Alabama sure hope they are good. Thanks again!
