Excellent show, great weather although Sunday was supposed to have thunderstorms and may have kept some buyers away. The volunteers are very helpful and the new location was great. A few bugs in the tear down schedule but I know they will be ironed out before next year. I had very good sales on mid priced handmade tiles.
We were there too. We've always loved doing Francisco's Farm. Marcie (the director) is wonderful and she knows how to put on a show and treat her artists right! My husband's ceramic art is very unique and 'left to center' and our sales traditionally at this show are always okay; never great, never horrid. This year we did better than usual because we met a store owner who we visited on Monday morning and she ordered $1200 worth of product. That made our day!
I'll be interested to see what the overall sales stats are for this show. It's a show full of beautiful art and I got the impression that the folks with real high-end stuff weren't doing so well. Personally we sold a bunch of stuff in the $40 -$50 dollar range.
We live in Western KY and we do just a few shows in the Eastern end of our state to keep up our KY connections. We keep coming back to Francisco's Farm because of their terrific attitude and it's a great time to be in a show where we are surrounded by so many of our regional artist friends. As I wrote in my blog at blogspot "Francisco's Farm is warm and cozy". Here's a link to my blog post that has pictures of the show.
By the way, Thanks to Linda and Jim, I had to leave on Tuesday morning to visit my ailing Dad in Texas. I just wanted everyone to know of a good show. sorry no pics of the Saturday crowd and my Sunday sales were about half of Saturday's (if that helps).
It seems that Linda and Jim Dalton did all the info for me. I was rather hurried but wanted to get some info out about a good show. I experienced no problems at load out but saw a long line of other artists waiting and was assured the "delays" would be corrected. Everyone associated with this show was kind, personable and helpful. I do handmade sculpted tiles, medicinebluffstudio.com which is not your normal art or fine craft offering. I heard jewelry sales were good but that could have also depended on your product and location. I hope that helps
Midway, Ky, Closest motels are in Frankfort, the state capitol, 6 miles west. The show got rates in the high 60's at a Best Western. We negotiated a high 70's rate at the Fairfield next door. 10 miles east is Lexington with a better selection of hotels and restaurants, we will likely stay there next time.
Equus Run vinyards is a high end vinyard on about 8 well appointed acres, with excellent facilities. Real restrooms to augment the port-a-potties, vinyard staff on hand to assist, as well as volunteers as mentioned above. Artist's dinner on Friday nite and full-time artist hospitality locations all of the show times. Threat of rain may have discouraged some potential patrons, but vinyard staff was prepared to cope with slick roads with a fleet of 4WD vehicles if needed. Rain never materialized, only problem was slow pack out, mattered only to those who were impatient. Others enjoyed another glass of wine and waited their turn.
This is a fine art, fine craft show equally apportioned between the two. We have rarely had as good an experience at our first appearance at a show. I would commend it to all, not easy to get in, but well worth the effort.
As my first art fair experience (I was juried as an "emerging artist"), I cannot say enough good things about this show. The volunteers were great, checkin went smoothly, and the crowds came out (especially on Saturday and I agree that the weather probably kept many way on Sunday). I am a fiber artist focused primarily on felting, and I was satisfied to meet my sales goal, which was higher than last year's average sale per artist. Congrats to all for a great Francisco's Farm Art Festival at Equus Run Vineyard (the checkout process will surely be better next year).!
I also was at this show. It is located in Midway, KY. Halfway between Frankfort and Lexington. They used to hold it at Midway College, but this year held it at Equus Run Vineyard. Beautiful setting. There was a mixture of arts. I would say less 2D artists, than 3D. Crowds were good on Saturday but Sunday they were fewer. I felt that there were more lookers than buyers. Or if they were buying, they were purchasing smaller priced items. I sold enough to cover the cost of the show.
Gee John, you left me wondering about a few things like: Where the heck is this show? Where was the new location? What is the setup like? Is this more a craft show then fine art?
I know you mean well, but this is a lazy blog, it doesn't really tell you much.
Come on, rethink it and gives us a real review, otherwise why are you going thru the motions? nels.

Replying to Nels points one by one:
