This is more about marketing.
What do you when you do a show for first time and new to the area. Are hoping for the promoter to bring your clients? What should we expect from the promoters? You are only doing show base on reports and do not know what to expect from the area.

This is a great question! Here's what I do, and suggest that you do:
1) Set up a business profile on Facebook (your business name, not your personal account). It's free.
2) Search for the show, and for the city that it's being held in, in Facebook. If there is a primary sponsor or beneficiary (such as a school system that has an arts program, for example), search for that too.
3) "Friend" all of them.
4) Make a post to each of them, saying, "Hi, I'm ____ and I'm exhibiting at the <show> on <date and time and location>. I'm really honored to have been accepted to exhibit at this show. My work is <BRIEF explanation...less than a sentence>. If you have a personal relationship to the area or the beneficiary, such as "I grew up nearby in <city>" or "I'm very active in a <similar charity> in my hometown, " say so.
Hi Larry
I am looking forward to next year. I applying to shows in Texas and Florida. I already have check regular places. I am waiting for a response from the shows. If I get in comes the question what else I can do to market myself if I had never done the show before even if it is great show but you are new with no leads.
Why did you apply to the show? Does it have a history or does the promoter have a good reputation?
