This was my second year here and it is turning into one of my favorite festivals. It is held in a beautiful park outside of Lowell, Michigan. Small show with 85 artists. It is run by the art council and they really care about all aspects of their show. Great food and entertainment. Weather hampered things this year with rain/drizzle all day Sat.. People still came out in good numbers. Sun. was beautiful but I think the Lions winning a game put them into shock :) Sold many items in the under $30 range and a few lamps. Had past collector of mine buy two $650 lamps, offered them a discount and they refused!!! There are still true gems of people out there. Load in/out easy. Parking close. My sales were down around 25% from last year but was still an acceptable show for me. Other artists I spoke with were happy with sales. I plan on retuning for as long as they will have me.Kevin
Thanks Kevin ....I appreciate that .
Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised with Lowell......what a nice little show it was .
I didn't know what to expect .
Congrats on the new grandbaby !! I have 5 granddaughters , and they are the joy of my heart .
So yes, track me down at Chantilly .
hey, I actually know you , from the Sunshine Artist forum....we discussed that horrible little show .....Bay Harbor .....a year or so ago ???
anyways, talk to you at the Gilmore show !
Shhh, Nels. Don't tell anyone about this one. I think you have to live in Michigan at least six months out of the year to be eligible to participate :)
I really liked your work, was in your booth a couple times looking for something for my daughter who just had a baby. I see you will be in Chantilly in a couple weeks..will catch up to you there. For a show out in the boondocks, the people sure do show up. More people were there last year with perfect weather.

This was my first year at Lowell, and I was pleased with it also .
I would go back .
I sold a ton of $40- $140. ...and many multiple sales.
I think in a good year --economy--weather ---when all the gods are smiling , it would be an awesome show .
But I definately liked the size , and thought they juried well.
Thanks for the report, Kevin. We used to do this art fair before we stopped doing art fairs and really loved it! The weather was invariably beautiful, nice kids activities, loved the touch of the local churches and clubs doing the food, very decent booth fee--and most of all the lovely customers and very decent sales. Easy to do, lovely location, near to affluent areas -- it was always like doing an art fair in the 1980's...yes, there are dried flowers, but just fine, a nice mix with everything nicely done. It is a good example of the "something for everyone", which does not mean a carnival, vendors, commercial food and loud music. Good to hear the event is sill working. I'm not surprised that it worked for your fine work, Kevin.
