Ive been waitlisted at the big ones, bayou, woodlands. Are there any other decent shows for painters in texas or nearby in the spring. I'm either leaving florida to go to texas in late march for bayou city if i get in, or april then to the midwest for the summer. I travel full time so I'm flexible. I've applied to many, but havent gotten a good schedule sorted out as of yet.
So ya, looking for some recommendations, I havent done any in texas yet.

What about Lubbock?
Megan take a look at www.CallsforArtists.com. There are lots of shows listed there looking for artists to apply. There may not be as many shows in Texas to apply to but you may find other shows that will work for you. Good luck. I hope you are able to put together a great schedule for 2015.
Hope you'll consider the Texas Gulf Coast Arts Festival, May 15-17! We're located in Clute, Texas - one hour south of Houston. Advertising and public relations are well-underway. There will be a Patron Preview Party Friday night, May 15, for patrons to have first choice in purchasing art. Festival hours are Sat., 10 - 6 & Sun., 11 - 4. This is the only juried art festival in a community of over 320,000 people and we want to inspire the community and festival tourists with wonderful art. Apply at zapplication.org. Deadline is Feb. 2. Check us out on the web: http://bcfas.org/gulf-coast-art-festival/
I did the Botanic Garden show one year and did well, but they have since changed the date so that it hasn't worked out. There were lots of people who did not do well, though, so I don't know if that first time was predictable or a fluke. Also, they didn't advertise. My sales were to people who came for the springtime gardens.
Deep Ellum in Dallas has good attendance/hit and miss sales to a younger audience - lots of dog walkers. Cottonwood has a rough in and out, but a good record. Huffines, also near Dallas, is good for many. Art on Green in Arlington is well organized but the weather can make this one sketchy.
Art City Austin and Art @ The Domain in Austin are too expensive for the return.
