I found two festivals in Georgia in September. One in Atlanta the weekend of the 11th, and one in Marrietta Labor Day weekend. Does anyone have experience with either of these festivals? Marrietta looks good, but their application process calls for PHOTOS!?!, and they want the booth fee up front too. It's scaring me away.
Huh! Just goes to show what I know, Camille. Looks like there are some regional differences here that we need to take into account. Thanks for this info.
Funny, Holly, you should say that! The long-time director puts together best practices workshops for events directors. No joke! Jury by photos, unfortunately, is a common practice around Georgia. Well-meaning show directors and the weather (lots of weekend rain and wind the past year) are why most exhibitors are always looking for more streams of income.
When one is looking for festivals in the Southeast, remember that there are hundreds and hundreds of events and only dozens of excellent events. It's tough to blindly pick one.
ALWAYS talk to exhibitors who have done the show before. Or ask an expert. We've been in the southeastern festival industry for 30+ years... go to events2000.com or to e2000 on FB to see what's happening in the southeast.
