Good for you, Linda. It takes guts to travel to do a small event. It is in a great neighborhood, the weather forecast looks great, and here's hoping there will be a pot of gold at the end of the road.
This is the nature of this business, taking chances. We all know that we can't sustain ourselves on the big fairs alone, that in between them we do smaller ones to keep the cash flow flowing.
Hey All,
Just wanted to add that this weekend was open for me so I signed up. Yes, it's going to be a little one (2,000 or so) but as I have found this year, some of those that you would least expect turn out to be fantastic. I will give you a report when I get back home in a couple weeks, but just want to already say that John, the guy that started this years ago and has grown it to a great little event, is so accommodating to the artist already. In fact, he has even invited us (dogs too) to stay in his home. He knew we were leaving in the morning (Thurs) so he called this evening just to see if he could do anything else for us. He mentioned that there are now 40 artists, some coming from TN, me from WI and some other states. We talked quite a bit tonite & it sounds like a great little festival. So.... I'm off to Michigan again. Hope you all have successful shows this weekend!
