The Historic Shaw Art Fair is highly rated by artists for easy load-in/take-down, warm hospitality, a beautiful setting, hard-working volunteers and good sales. It is held in one of St. Louis’ finest historic neighborhoods — the Shaw Neighborhood. Stately homes along a tree-lined parkway provide a gracious setting for artists and visitors. A food court and live music, plus a children's gallery and activity area, round out the offerings.

The Art Fair will take place on the same weekend as the Best of Missouri Market at the Missouri Botanical Garden – typically held on the first complete October weekend each year – which is within walking distance of the Fair.

This outdoor event is held in one of StLouis’ finest historic neighborhoods – the Shaw Neighborhood – next to the Missouri Botanical Garden. Two blocks of Flora Place in the heart of the neighborhood provide a shaded boulevard and median park for the event among architect-designed early-20th-century historic homes

Introduced in 2024, on-call booth sitting will be continued this year. Our artist housing program, with neighborhood residents, continues as well.

Last year, 118 artists exhibited at the Art Fair, which was attended by over 7,000 visitors. We hope to include 120 artists for 2025.

I was impressed by the communication from the organizers from the start. The transparency and timeliness of the jury result was appreciated. My hosts were communicative and lovely and went above and beyond to welcome me. The ability to have free (and convenient) accommodation was a bonus as it helps the bottom line. Everything leading up was fantastic.

Regarding the show weekend, it felt as though there was seldom a lull – so job well-done on promotion. The neighboring artists were all lovely and seemed enthusiastic about being there. Didn't meet a single Debbie Downer, which is rare. I didn't get around to the 4200 block as I was solo (though I was offered a booth sitter), but the quality of work I saw was great. You can tell the crowd is used to high quality work and having offerings at a variety of price points. I have nothing but good feelings about how my weekend turned out.

I was so excited to be in the Shaw Art Fair! I have been in a few shows, Webster Arts Fair, Queeny Park, and Shaw Art Fair were my largest fairs. This year, Shaw has been my best show by far and honestly, I just love being part of such a wonderful event. The artists, patrons, and even the residents who live there were all so very nice and friendly which makes it such a wonderful experience for everyone!

I'm not sure of what improvements I would make. Being able to drive to your spot for set up and tear down is fabulous! Bathroom facilities are well spaced, and it seems that there were plenty of food vendors.
