Definitely both, otherwise why do it? It's certainly not easy money. These days it's as big a gamble as any a casino offers, so addiction fits. You work for weeks to get ready for a show, never knowing if you will sell enough to "break even", fighting the economy, weather, poor advertising, etc. I do it because I have to create, and this is a way I can make a "living" doing what I love. So passion fits. So art fairs it is, till I win the lottery and don't have to sell what I create to pay the rent!
