  I wouldn't believe any of the hype about the attendance figures.  I didn't think the show was as crowded as in years past.  And clearly, there wasn't as many serious quality buyers.  It was mostly young people who were there for the music and the popcorn.

   

  WAIT.... I told myself I would not post anything about this years Grove show.  The highlight for me was staying with Gerri and meeting Matey, the dog.  I think all 400-500 artists that they will have for next years show should stay at the Wegner Resort. (Only kidding Gerri).  Actually, I want to publicly thank Gerri for letting me stay at her place, this year.  Hopefully, Gerri and Bob will let me stay there next year, too.

  Connie, the cork chair was in the article in the Herald which was on the front page, not the business section.  I went back to the festival today and I am still trying to digest everything I saw.  On tv, attendance was quoted as 150,000 for the weekend with the artists that they spoke to saying the show was better than last year's.

  Just got home back to  Naples after attending the first day of Coconut Grove.  The show has 398 artists this year and is huge.  Lots of great art, too much photography and jewelry, great sculpture and mixed media.  My favorite booth was the printmaking by Marina Terauds of Michigan.  The St. Stephens show was bigger than ever before with at least another 200 hundred booths and there was another showin the parking lot to the West of it.  So I saw alot of art today.  Music was good, weather was fabulous, lots of great art-- thousands of people were having a good time in Coconut Grove  Florida today.

  Sorry, I hadn't read the article and didn't realize they were juried in.  Well, I am going to go and sort jelly beans by color so I can submit my pointillist art in next year's show.  Anyone know a good spray preservative that won't discolor my little candies?  Do I have to restring the candy necklace to make it my own?  Guess I do or I would be considered buy/sell.

  Yep, it was with the art.  From the little I could see, they are beautiful cakes, think Ace of Cakes on the food network.  I prefer to think that while they were taking up a booth, it doesn't mean  that an artist  did not get into the festival because of their placement.   Their work would look beautiful on zapp if they followed all of Larry's suggestions.  I think that is the least of the problems.
