Does any one have any info or opinions on Amy Amdur Shows. I know the Highland Park show, but wonder about some of the newer shows, like the one in Glenview at the old Navel Air Station, now a shopping center.
I am only guessing but Cantigny isn't really her geographic area. She is pretty much north suburbs of Chicago. It may have become too difficult to do since she has so many shows already plus two new ones this year.
I love the show at the Glen. It is very patron friendly--easy parking, lots of restaurants and great artists (most important)
Thanks. If anyone knows, though, I'd like to know why Amdur dropped the show. For example, even though it's long running, did it fail to yield good sales or attendance?
We have done 2 of Amy's shows: Arlington Heights and Cantigny (which I believe she has now dropped). Both shows were big disappointments for us. Both shows are well organized and have crowds of people. But they are not a art-buying crowd. I know she has a range of shows. They have a high entry fee. For the money we spend, we are better off doing different shows. I have heard the Gold Coast is a good show. But its very difficult to get into that show, as there are a lot of applications.
That show is called Art In The Glen. I've done it for the past 3 years and it's been a good show for me. Many of Amy's shows are rated in the top 50 shows by various groups. Her shows are always well run and artist friendly.

Hi Linda,
There are reviews of most of Amy's shows all around this board. One blog that has most of her shows mentioned is---

Hope this helps. If it doesn't, email me and I will give you more info.
