We will surely miss these artists who we were used to meeting in the next booth for many years: Dean Lauderdale, Bob Black, Barry Cohen, Marla Fry, Don Nibert, Leslie Jensen, art promoter Sandi Jewell and Linda Anderson's husband Neil.
I know this site is helpful to many of you, for which I am grateful. Consider as you are discussing the art fair business who is reading the site. Over and over I hear from art fair directors how the information you share on the site is affecting how they put together their events and they are reading, learning and changing their shows to make them places where artists want to be. You may not notice it but, bit by bit, you are changing this marketplace by your participation.

Hey, I'm not funny!! In fact, the one time I tried to be funny, everyone took me seriously. That was the name your own price blog. Every time I made a comment, someone (mostly Connie) would say "I needed a good laugh, today" and I would think to myself "that wasn't meant to be funny."
I wondered where you have been, Ruth. I dread the day we have to sell our house! What a chore.
Connie, this was a nicely put together blog that shows how valuable every member is and can be.

Artists and craftspeople have always been a fun-loving and interesting group of people who really know that life and the exhilirating rush of creativeness should be enjoyed to the max.
Congrats all!! I haven't been very active on this site the past few months, but I am enjoying catching up on the posts, stories, blogs, etc.
Side note - yes, Connie, I know I owe you a blog about the radical change we're making, it's a work in process and right now we're busier than we've even been trying to get the house on the market, getting rid of the vast majority of our "stuff" and trying to get on the road.

So right, Karen. Many of us have sat in offices. That doesn't work well for all, so here we are ... on the road.
Congratulations to all of the very deserving award winners. You and many others inspire me, educate me, and nurture me with the spirit of community when I'm slaving alone in the studio. A heartfelt thank you to all contributors and to Connie for being AFI's mama bear.
And Connie, you are so right that visitors to our booth are envious of our adventurous lives. We bitch and moan and say "if they only knew", but by god it's a lot better than sitting in an office, isn't it? What a life.
