Years in the Art Fair Business
just starting again after many years
First show ever
Notre Dame Holiday Fair in Nashua, NH in the early 90s
What are the best things about art fairs
I love the hustle and bustle of the artists, and shoppers. Talking to customers and other artists. Showing off my artwork. Selling my artwork.
Best show ever and why
It has to be my first show at Notre Dame. It was so crowded that they had to have people line up outside the doors. I would have hated to be a shopper, but it was fun being an artist. I have no idea how much money I made at that show, it was an overall fantastic experience.
Worst show ever and why
I'd have to say it was a show in Boston. I signed up thinking it would be a great show, I mean Boston? after all! I payed a lot of money to get it, fretted over it, traveled 50 miles to get there, and it was a big flop. The artist next to me didn't show up so I had to spread out over two tables, and there were so few people that showed up, I could count them on one hand.
