First show ever
Can't honestly remember. Probably a crappy craft show (cotton ball Santa Clauses etc). I'm sure I didn't make much and probably just tried to forget it!
What are the best things about art fairs
Meeting other artists and hoping to make good $$
Best show ever and why
Dogwood fest. $$$$ of course. But well attended and well ran
Worst show ever and why
I t would be hard to figure out the worst of 15 yrs. So I'll speak if this year. BROADRIPPLE! Has been horrible the last two years. Used to cross everything possible in hopes of getting in. Was always in my top 3 shows when I got in. Now there is too much SOS and buy/sell. Also, they keep raising gate price. I believe it was $16 or $18 this year. AND now they are charging for kids! As if bringing kids aren't enough if a hinderance for parents. Lastly, no accepting credit cards! Is using Square and giving up 2.75% really that big of a deal???!!! So they family if 5 spends all that money at the gate... Heads to the corn dog stand.... Shaved ice.. Whatever, what's left to spend with the artist?!?

A friend on Facebook often shares show reviews and of course word of mouth
What is one fun fact about yourself?
That's a tough one!!! To a non artist, I would say I get to work for myself as a potter. But everyone on here knows it's not as glamorous as most people think. Or maybe it is to some. I particularly do not enjoy traveling to shows and dealing with the public (well most if the public, the ones who want a discount if they buy 2 $20 mugs or the ones who ask questions that leave you wondering "exactly who ties your shoes for you in the morning?".....,"how exactly do you make it through life each day?"!! I know to some I must sound like a cynical a-hole. Unfortunately, I'm simply not a big people person, much to my demise. Guess that's what I like about being a potter, the solitude.
