First show ever
St John's of Rochester - school show that included buy-sell stuff. I have a friend who still admonishes me about ever doing another "Tupperware Show". As if.
What are the best things about art fairs
Interacting with customers is so much fun, that making money sometimes seems like a happy bonus. The other thing I love is that pretty much every show brings new opportunities. I can't wait to see what's next.
Best show ever and why
The Rochester Museum & Science Center's Annual Holiday Bazaar - the first time I did it 3 years ago. That's been my favorite show to go to for years - such high quality art. And to be accepted, almost sell out and make more money than I ever had before, blew my little mind.
Worst show ever and why
My most recent show at Fairport's Canal Days. In spite of being well weighted, my tent blew over in the wind and two supports broke. It was rainy and miserable the next day and I saw other vendors packing up and going home so I did too. I've never, ever done that before - Really against my religion to do that. Since then I've become one with my tent and can't wait for the next show in a few weeks. I am a success.
