Years in the Art Fair Business

This year.

First show ever

Last year I did 3 local shows, but our area is the most depressed in the country. Also, the shows were more craft than fine art. I sold a few items, but nothing to cover the costs of the booth space. It was a time of learning. I am looking forward to this year, as I am participating in several larger shows that are listed as fine art. We shall see.

What are the best things about art fairs

Of course, selling is really the very best, but next to that is meeting and getting to know the other artist.

Best show ever and why

Local Art Guild Show - Good advertising, lots of people to brouse and buy. Great community effort. Sold several pieces.

Worst show ever and why

Regional High School last year. Had tons of people, but they were all looking for very cheep craft items, not fine art.
