The people
Best show ever and why
Saint James, Louisville, KY. The booth location, crowd and the sales
Worst show ever and why
No the worst show by any means, but definitely the most memorable. May 18th, 1980 - Moscow Idaho. Mount St. Helens erupts early on Sunday. By about 3pm we watching the sky get increasingly darker. Sales are non-stop. Shoppers are thinking rain- other are thinking the 2nd Coming. Then the ash starts falling. Rumors fly. Then we get the word. The ash is from the Cascades, some 450 miles away. Do we pack up? NO business is to good. Eventually it is hard to see 10 ft. My wife is getting scared. We get the last motel room in town. KFC is the only open restaurant. The nest morning we move the hiway barriers and make our way back to Spokane in 18 " of volcanic ash.
