First show ever
Sadly, it was a single table inside a Walmart when I was in college
What are the best things about art fairs
Freedom of being self employed. Being in a different place each weekend. Working with my friend. Watching people. Seeing all the strange things that happen at festivals
Best show ever and why
That’s a secret
Worst show ever and why
It’s a tie between: a show in Virginia where we were set up in an old Kmart in a part of town where nobody went. Nobody came at all. And A show where a few artists were set up right up against a well used train track. It constantly reeked of creosote from the railroad ties and when the trains came through the wind from it knocked things down. It was 100 degrees and nobody came. The only good thing was that they had the most porta potties I’ve ever seen anywhere. There were lines of them everywhere. In my memory it’s like 100 of them, but I never counted. Unfortunately this was in the early 2000’s so I had no iPhone to take pics.
