Run.. Run as fast as you can away from this show. The people who run it are lovely. And yes they treat the artists great and have breakfast and lunch for you. What they are missing is customers. They hold it in a YMCA in an industrial park
The booth spaces are great and the location is nice inside.. but if you don't know it is there you won't find it. 2013 was the second year and I swear I could hear crickets chirp. Some people packed up on FRIDAY night which was the preview party night. Yea, most of the patrons didn't even show up for the dinner let alone buy anything and from what I understood many of our donated items were bundled into baskets and they still didn't all get sold.
As I talked to vendors who were returning vendors they said last year was better than the first year.. I said wow how bad was last year. I would say a few vendors made money, those would be local people who had friends/clients coming to pick stuff up. I broke even and I drove home to sleep each night. Some people were in the hole.. a lot... I don't know that anyone bought stuff that was big. I think the furniture guy took everything home he brought. I sold mostly items under $40.
I have expressed my opinion in a group and was told.. give it time.. it is a new show.. etc etc etc but seriously the booth fee is way too high if you have no customers. I wouldn't do it again FOR FREE...
Now the Oldham Arts Association is well respected in the area and they do have some good shows.. but I don't think this one is ready to be in that catagory.
