What are the best things about art fairs
Getting a pulse on your customers, interactions with customers and fellow artists, exchanging ideas, and continuing to grow as a person and an artist.
Best show ever and why
Allied Arts Holiday Festival in Bellingham WA. Why - They are 100% artists. No imports, no kits. They have been around for ~50 years and are well respected for the caliber of show and talent they bring in. It is a central cashier show as it runs 5-6 weeks, 7 days a week each year in Nov/Dec and artists work security shifts.
Worst show ever and why
Victorian Country Christmas in Puyallup WA. As a fair goer customers enjoy the show with all the vendors dressed in Victorian style. The show is heavy in imports and light in real artists is my first issue. You are packed in by imports and it is very hard to compete. Perhaps if they had artistians in one section and all the rest it might be better. BUT my real issue is the management. I have done many shows over the years and I have never dealt with how rude, insensitive and just plain prejudice this management team is. I only did the show one year and was so angry with how I was treated that I finally found one of the show owners and told him my experience. First he lied, then when caught in the lie tried to make light of it. He was condescending and arrogant. I will never do business with a person or company like that again.

What is one fun fact about yourself?
My cat used to be my travel companion when I would take wild life pictures for months at a time. He has since passed, but his memory travels with me today!
