  • Thanks, Leslie...yes, I can't imagine not staying busy either and I truly feel sorry for those that don't have a hobby, an avocation or some kind of creative outlet.  It's really what keeps me going and it sounds like you're the same way...cheers to us!

  • Hi Leslie,  Sorry I'm late with a response but Thanksgiving got in the way...

Wow, I only have one boiled wool jacket but it's periwinkle blue and I love it! I've always been fascinated by fabrics and fabric stores as well.  My mother and older sister were quite accomplished at sewing and would make my prom gowns, etc.  I can sew but I just don't find it as meditative as knitting and I would imagine weaving can be like that too.  It's all good though, yes?

  • You're welcome and thanks!  Me too, I guess that's why I started felting in the first place...when I was growing up, I always wanted a boiled wool jacket, I thought they were the height of sophistication.  So, I guess things that affect us like that never really go away, funny how that works.

  • Welcome to Art Fair Insiders, Leslie.  Thank you for joining us. I hope you’ll find the site helpful and that you’ll share ideas and ask questions. The site is only as good as the participants make it.  We have a lot to offer one another, experienced and newbie alike.

When you have a chance, please add a photo of yourself and stop by the "Discussions" area to introduce yourself to the rest of us. Visit the "member map" and add your location.

Many topics have already been discussed. We suggest you try a search of your topic before you post your question. Click the SEARCH tab at the top of the page and “search” for your topic: tents, jury fees, Ann Arbor Art Fair, the name of a show, etc. You might be surprised that someone has already asked your question.

We also ask all new members to take a few moments to read our code of conduct. Here it is, under the Discussions tab. These are the guidelines that all members need to follow to keep the community useful and helpful to all.

Each of us is unique and has a gift to share that can help someone else. We all look forward to your sharing on ArtFairInsiders.com.

    Best wishes, Connie Mettler

p.s. The best way to make this system easy to use is to click on the "Follow-Email me" link at the bottom of each Forum discussion that interests you. That way the system will email you automatically whenever anyone responds. It's a great time-saver.

  • So beautiful...thanks.  I can see why you love it, you're creating something that someone will love and enjoy wearing for years.

  • Hi Leslie,

Welcome to AFI!  As a fellow fiber artist, I'm curious as to what you do exactly...could you share a little more information with us or maybe some photos of your work?  Thanks for joining us and best wishes for continued success.
